Licensing

Activation and updating software are performed in different ways, depending on the kind of license.

  • USB LICENSE - ACTIVATION/UPDATINGSOFTWARE LICENSE (SL) - FIRST ACTIVATION
  • SOFTWARE LICENSE - FIRST ACTIVATION
  • SOFTWARE LICENSE (SL) - UPDATING



Please, note that:

  • a software license is dependent on the computer used to generate the request activation file. The license transfer from a computer to another one is not possible without Gexcel intervention
  • an USB license permits to move the dongle between several computers on which the software is installed. Generating the activation file, in this case, is possible from any PC.



USB LICENSE - ACTIVATION/UPDATING


Here it's possible to learn how to activate/update an USB dongle (!) HL (with USB plugged in the computer) by

A. Generating a .c2v file (necessary to get the .v2c file from Gexcel)

B. Applying a .v2c file (necessary to activate your USB license)

(!) Pay attention: for USB dongles, the first activation and the updating follow the same procedure.


A. Request

  1. Plug in the USB dongle before starting the software
  2. Open the software and select Help → License Manager in order to create a .c2v request file.
  3. Click on Generate license activation request (C2V).
  4. Choose the type of license key: → Update hardware license key (1 found)
    The USB dongle is found, checked, and used to generate the request file .c2v.
  5. Type the desired file name (for example YYMMDD_DongleCode_CompanyName) and Save the .c2v file.
  6. Send the .c2v file by e-mail to license@gexcel.it.


B. Activation

After receiving the .C2V file, Gexcel will send an activation .V2C file in reply.


Please, follow these instructions to apply it.

  1. Plug in the USB dongle before starting the software
  2. Open the software and select Help → License Manager.
  3. Click on Apply license activation file (V2C).
  4. Select the .v2c file and Open it.
  5. A successful message should appear at the end of the license activation process.
  6. Reboot Reconstructor®.

SOFTWARE LICENSE - FIRST ACTIVATION


Here it's possible to learn how to activate the software based license SL (on single computer) by

A. Generating a .c2v file (necessary to get the .v2c activation file from Gexcel)

B. Applying a .v2c file (necessary to activate your software license)

  2. Click on Generate license activation request (C2V).
  3. Choose the type of license key:
    → Request new software license key
  4. Type the desired file name (for example YYMMDD_CompanyName) and Save the .c2v file.
  5. Send the .c2v file by e-mail to license@gexcel.it.


B. Activation

After receiving the .C2V file, Gexcel will send an activation .V2C file in reply.

  2. Click on Generate license activation request (C2V).
  3. Choose the type of license key:
    → Update existing software license key (1 found)
  4. Type the desired file name (for example YYMMDD_CompanyName) and Save the .c2v file.
  5. Send the .c2v file by e-mail to license@gexcel.it.
