Export to Autodesk® ReCap Pro
Thanks to free Gexcel ReCap plug-in, Reconstructor® can directly export in .rcs and .rcp formats for a more complete and faster integration with the Autodesk® Recap software.
Reconstructor point clouds (.rgp, .rup) can also be directly imported in ReCap.
You must have a valid Autodesk ReCap Pro license active on your pc, also a trial one is allowed.
Before start the export process, make sure that:
- the Recap decap.exe file is present in the C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Autodesk ReCap folder.
- you copied the Gexcel plug-in GexcelImportCodec.rcip from the Reconstructor installation folder (as for example C:\Program Files\Gexcel\Reconstructor) in the Recap plug-in folder (as for example C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk ReCap\plugin).
Select the point clouds you want to export in the Recap format and select the Export to Autodesk® ReCap Pro command. A dialog will appear:
The selected point clouds are listed in the upper side of the window.
You can export different layers of color, depending on the original one:
- reflectance (if present)
- Inclination (if present)
- Choose between Color/Confidence/other or other scalar color layers.
Then you can select the path address for RCP project parent folder ( Output folder) and the Project name.
In More Options it is possible to set:
- a clipping minimum range (exports only the points starting from a certain distance defined by the center of the point cloud)
- a clipping minimum range (exports only the points until a certain distance from the point cloud's center)
- a decimation value (subsamples the point cloud extracting a point every X mm in the 3D directions)
Click to Export to start the export process.
