Usage Modes
1. Preset Mode
The principle workflow in HERON Desktop to process a HERON® trajectory is as simple as shown below:
Project creation > Import HERON raw data > Odometer > Create maps > Global Optimization > Export to Reconstructor > Import into Reconstructor
In Preset mode, to process a HERON® raw data, the data will simply go through one operation to another from begin till the end, step by step (Expert Mode is not activated). In each operation, there are Preset of parameters which are designed, tested and set up for different types of survey.
For example:
- Odometer: there are Indoor, Outdoor, CriticalAreas presets
- Create Maps: 10m and 25m in which 10m can be used for typical indoor surveys, 25m is for typical outdoor surveys.
- Global Optimization: Standard and Standard Gravity
For more details see Preset mode.
2. Expert Mode
Expert mode is the advanced processing mode for trajectory processing in HERON Desktop.
The fundamental workflow is the same, as we will have
Project creation > Import HERON raw data > Odometer > Create maps > Global Optimization > Export to Reconstructor > Import into Reconstructor.
In Expert mode, Users will be able to access, change and modify any parameters in Odometer, Create maps and Global Optimization steps.
For more details see Expert Mode.
3. Automatic Mode
After Project creation > Import HERON raw data, HERON Desktop software allows you to run the trajectory processing in fully automatic mode in which you will only have to
- Select the first and the last operation of the trajectory processing
- Then, from survey type whether it is an indoor or outdoor survey, define a preset for each operation to run the Automatic processing function.
For more details see Automatic mode.
