Workflows

The following chapters details the 4 possible workflows offered by the HERON Desktop

We highly recommend to start for the  Single Trajectory Workflow to understand the easier way to process a single trajectory using the standard preset offered by the Mapper. This workflows end in Reconstructor® from which you can go in third parties software. To properly execute this workflow, please give a look also to the FAQ&TIPs where best practices to do your first acquisitions are pointed out.

When you have practiced with this starting workflow you can play with Multiple Trajectory Workflow - Preset mode to merge together different trajectories in a single project.

If you have the possibility to have control points along your path or you want to take benefit from static scans or geo-referenced point clouds, please give a look to the Usage of Constraints Workflow and its 3 options.

HERON® is not only a mapping system but it is also a device to localize the user position in respect to a reference map (a point cloud collected with HERON® or other sensors or a BIM/CAD model). HERON® can also detect changes between the reference map and the acquired data. This capability works both in real time in  HERON®  Live and post processing in  HERON® Desktop. The Tracking/Change Detection Workflow explains how to use this special functionality.
